Have you ever been around a new believer?  They are excited and have a vibrancy and freshness as they learn of the love of a Savior that is almost indescribable.  But as we continue on in our spiritual walks, it can become monotonous as we hear the same stories again and again.  Being a pastor and engaging with many believers over the last few years, it is fair to say that many believers are not in the place spiritually that they long to be.  Many believers are fatigued and feel like they are just going through the motions.

We are warned throughout scripture that the End Times will catch most off guard. Do we see our world falling apart around us as we draw near to the Lord's return?  The church needs to be preparing for the coming judgements of God that will take the world by surprise. 

Ellen White warns us that "The end is near, stealing upon us so stealthily, so imperceptibly, so noiselessly, like the muffled tread of the thief in the night, to surprise the sleepers off guard and unready. May the Lord grant to bring His Holy Spirit upon hearts that are now at ease that they may no longer sleep as do others, but watch and be sober." {ChS 41.2} 

A great shaking is coming that will test everyone who believes. “Soon Gods people will be tested by fiery trials, and the great proportion of those who now appear to be genuine and true, will prove to be base metal (5T 136).
